SULLIVANS FOR THE SAVIOUR
Dear Friends,
We greet you from Pietermaritzburg. Andy is teaching at UBI as he did last year and this time, he is teaching the Book of Hebrews. Our accommodation at UBI will only be available from Thursday which is why we have stayed with Glen and Ange Harborth they have offered us bed and dinner which is a blessing! Andy was meant to teach African Church History as an elective subject, but it was cancelled as not enough students registered.
We had a great time at the Baptist Union Assembly renewing friendships and making new ones. We rejoice that Heather’s induction as the president of the BWD went well, she preached on her text for her year which is Micah 6:8 and then sang a lovely song called “the summons” whilst Andy played the guitar. It has been a long time since we sang a song together!
Andy will be peaching in the local churches in Pietermaritzburg while we’re at UBI, Hayfields Baptist on the 23rd. During October he will be preaching at Pinetown Baptist on 9th and will go to Sunbury over the weekend 14th to 16th for the annual ZEFA Conference. On the 1st Heather attended the GVB Seminar at Scottsville Baptist. All info is on the Women’s Dept website.
FAMILY NEWS:
Heather’ sister Janet has arrived from the UK and is visiting her family in Cape Town before travelling to Durban with 3 UK friends. Heather will spend some time with them at the end of October while Andy teaches. Our daughters and their families are all well. The children have a short break this week before the sprint to the end of the year. Next year both Raiden and Riley will be changing schools which involves new uniforms etc.
PLEASE PRAY FOR:
- Heather as she prepares for her year of ministry as BWD president. Her area for visiting is the East London area which will be in March and August next year.
- Andy as he assists the new Administrator with the annual ZEFA Conference at Sunbury from 14th to 16th October. The challenge this year is not knowing how many will arrive and Sunbury has limited the number to 130. So far, we have about 50 who have registered and paid.
- A blessed and fruitful time as we visit with family and supporters while we’re in the Pietermaritzburg area.
We close with the words of Micah 6:8 from the Message
But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbour, be compassionate and loyal in your love, and don’t take yourself too seriously— take God seriously. Micah 6:8
May the Lord richly bless you all
