AUGUST 2022

Dear Friends,

Thank you again for your faithful prayers as we successfully “navigated an interesting month”.  Heather returned home on the 10th August after being with Kirsten for two weeks.   Kirsten is recovering well and back to her busy self.  While Heather was away Andy spent quality time with the boys while Andrea and Quintin attended a wedding and had to spend the night away.  He enjoyed watching what the boys watch on TV and playing X-Box games.

MINISTRY NEWS:

Andy preached less this month but was able to hold a Marriage Officer Training course in Durban on Saturday 20th.  This was the first “in person” seminar since covid and they had 36 people attending.  He has another training course planned while teaching at UBI that one will be part of their academic  program.  The online course was well received at the Teachers Conference and time will tell how many people will access it over the next couple months.  You can check it out for yourself on our zemsa.org website under ZEFA and go to Marriage Officer Training. Andy was blessed to be able to help a local pastor prepare to write his Marriage Officer exam after he had failed the previous attempt. We now have to wait for him to receive his result which could take up to six months.

The Mukhanyo students wrote their African Spirituality exam on the 13th and will begin their next course which is on Bible Doctrine.  Good news is that Mukhanyo College is granting our ZEBS graduates a number of credits so that they do not have to do all 12 subjects to achieve their Higher Certificate in Bible Teaching.  We give God the glory that Mukhanyo have acknowledged the quality of our ZEBS teaching program and we praise the Lord for our ZEBS teachers who faithfully teach the truth from Scripture to so many who need it.

FAMILY NEWS:

Riley and Georgia are really growing up, Georgia keeps borrowing Kirsten's clothing, Riley has outgrown Kirsten’s shoes (takkies / running shoes).  Raiden had his last sports day at Sarnia Primary as vice-captain of his house.  Carson came 4th in the finals of Kloof High rock climbing competition. We were able to celebrate the August birthdays together and went out for a meal.

PLEASE PRAY FOR

Heather as she prepares to become National President of the BWD at the Baptist Union Assembly at the end of September.  She will attend Board Meetings on the 24th and 25th and be inducted on 27th of September?

Andy as he prepares to teach at UBI again from the end of September through to November.   He will be teaching two subjects this time – Book of Hebrews and African Church History.        We will again be staying on the UBI campus and look forward to visiting friends and family who live in the area and preaching in local churches.

Thanks for your faithful prayers and loving support,

May the Lord richly bless you all

Andy & Heather Sullivan
