Ministry News
Dear Friends,
We are sending this newsletter whilst Andy is in Hibberdene, and Heather is with Kirsten who had
her operation on 26 th July and can’t drive for a while.
MINISTRY NEWS: Andy taught at South Coast
Bible School from Monday to Friday. We rejoice that
this was the last two courses for the Mukhanyo students who will graduate with their Diploma in
Theology next year! He was teaching two subjects a day as they were short of lecturers, effectively
from 8am to 6pm Monday to Thursday. The students wrote tests on Sunday afternoon and Friday
morning which gave him a break and they also watched DVD’s during some lessons which helped
him rest his voice. After the week of
teaching, he travelled 3 hours to Sunbury for the annual ZEBS
Teachers Conference, picking up two teachers at the Durban airport.
Andy has been responsible for running this Conference for the last 9 years and is planning to hand
over to one
of the younger missionaries. Although they had lower numbers than usual (35) it was a
blessed time of fellowship discussion and learning. One of the exciting developments is that two
thirds of those who attended were African church leaders who assist
us as our ZEBS teachers.
We were privileged to be involved in preaching at Pinetown Baptist again and at Glenwood
Community (previously Bulwer Road Baptist), where Marius; our ZEMA colleague is a leader.
Heather attended the TEAM/ ZEMA ladies’
seminar while Andy stayed with Casi for the weekend.
He attended a KZN Baptist meeting on Missions on the Saturday and shared at the morning service
at Durban North Baptist. They have been one of our supporting churches and many there pray for
us. Heather flew up on Wednesday and was able to spend a couple of nights with her Aunty Lol who
will be having a birthday in August.
