“Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” Psalm 27:14
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
Has God had you in life’s waiting room? How does it feel? Probably a range of emotions, disappointment is usually the greatest feeling. This described my final week in South Africa. We received results that Nala was Covid positive on December 11, and our Christmas plans were delayed. In that moment, I prayed for wisdom and for our next steps. I laughed and said “God what are you doing? Going home shouldn’t be so difficult!” However, I needed reminders to wait, focus and trust God. I make plans but God’s plans always prevail.
In our seasons of waiting, God reminds us to invite others to pray with us, encourage us with daily prayers and Scriptures. Most of all, God reminds us that he has not given us a spirit of Fear, but of power, love, a sound mind and he is near to the brokenhearted.
On December 17, God flooded my heart with praise songs(from my playlist) for my heart was very anxious, when we began to receive our Covid-19 results. Noel’s test was the last one to come in, and it seemed like an eternity, as I paced the room. A song with the words, “Hallelujah, Salvation and Glory” began to play. Noel’s result was negative! We could go home. Thank you for praying that God would allow us to return to the States by Christmas. God did it and all 26 bags made it too.
Draw near to God this season and Praise Him for He is Good and His gift of everlasting love is in our hearts!
