Nahum 1:7
"The LORD is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble..."

To be honest, the month of September has been an extremely busy month for both Damon and myself. The best way to describe it is like trying to drink from a fire hydrant - we are both physically and emotionally tired. At the end of August, we got a call from my parents who informed us that my grandfather passed away from COVID-19. Due to flight tickets being so expensive we decided to drive through to Durban to help with all the funeral preparations. We spent about a week and a half there, then we traveled through to Johannesburg for his memorial as most of his family live there. After that, we had a week back here in Cape Town to prepare for a missions exposure and then last week we led the missions exposure. It all felt like CHAOS! But regardless of all this God was good through it all! The Lord provided a car that was able to drive us across the country safely about 2 months before we got the news about my grandfather. God gave us divine appointments with our families and above all, He worked in wonderful ways during the mission's exposure! God is good and He truly was our stronghold!

Enlarge my Territory: Missions Exposure
After much discussion and prayer, we have felt led to facilitate a missions exposure trip within our own nation – allowing God to broaden the territory of our hearts, minds, communities, cultures, and comfort zones. It took place from 20-24 September.
The group spent time ministering on the streets of Bo-Kaap and Bellville to people groups barely  reached with the Gospel of Christ. The group received AMAZING teachings from a diverse group of lecturers. Some topics include: the 'unreached' world, global missions and news from a Christian Perspective. They tasted exotic foods, ministered to each other and built beautiful friendships.
During the missions exposure, I was reminded of the scripture below:
Romans 10:13-15 "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
God invites us all to be a part of what He is doing in our neighbourhood, our communities, our province, our country and the world... will we answer the call?
Prayer Requests:   Thank the Lord for how the missions exposure went. Pray that what God has planted in their hearts will take root and bear much fruit for His glory.
Steps of Obedience

While we were in Durban, Damon had his Baptist Union interview - which went very well. Last week he received feedback and they have added his name to the candidate list and given him 3 years to receive a call from a congregation where he will then have a probation period. We are very thankful for this. Damon has also been contacted by a church in the Western Cape that has asked him to be on their preaching roster and the opportunity could develop in the future because they currently do not have a Pastor.
Prayer Requests:   Thank the Lord for such opportunities. Pray for us to be sensitive to the voice of God and the leading of His Spirit. We desire His will alone!
