AFRICA RISING:

The Church in Africa has, for a long time, been described as the sleeping giant within global missions. But Africa is no longer a sleeping giant. Africa has, over the past couple of years, turned into a rising giant. We can see, through our friends in Africa, they are no longer waiting for missionaries to come to them, they are grabbing hold of the missions calling to take the Gospel to the nations. The Church in Africa is Rising!

God-willing Damon and I will be going with a team to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to encourage and inspire our African missionary friends to continue the good work that has been started within them.

During our stay, we will have the opportunity to attend the African Church with their own unique way of worshipping our Saviour. We’ll have meetings to hear first-hand what God is doing in Africa and how our missionary friends are participating in establishing His Kingdom on the continent and beyond.

We will also delve into the missions and church history of Africa by visiting the first mission station on the East Coast of Africa, walking in the footsteps of the missionaries who went before us, whose labour ultimately led to the birth of the African Church and that is now bearing fruit in the form of indigenous African missionaries.

The total budget for this trip is R18 000 each - totaling R36 000 (of which R21 000 is for flight tickets) for both Damon and myself to attend. The team plans on booking the flight tickets by the 4th of April. If you feel led to contribute to this trip, please see our banking details below and use the reference AFRICA.

We appreciate every prayer and every bit of support that you give!

There is so much going on at the moment - we need and are thankful for your prayers!

Please Pray:
- Thank God for this opportunity at Worcester Baptist Church and for Africa Rising
- Praise God for His provision in a home and for the move to Worcester
- Pray for Damon's new role at Worcester Baptist Church, for much wisdom and guidance - we can do nothing without Him
- Pray for the packing & moving process
- From this Sunday, Damon will be preaching at Worcester Baptist Church. Pray for the Lord's guidance as he prepares sermons and for God to be glorified
- Pray for all the necessary finances for us to be able to attend Africa Rising

As you know, Damon received a letter of call to the Worcester Baptist Church, and has since accepted the position. Worcester Baptist Church was founded just before COVID-19 and is a small congregation. This opportunity is therefore a bi-vocational position until the congregation grows and is able to afford a full-time Pastor. We will still be working for INcontext International and resume our normal responsibilities. Damon has officially started his position as Pastor on the 1st of March and we will be moving to Worcester on the 1st of April. We will work from the INcontext office on Monday and Tuesday. Gigi will resume normal INcontext responsibilities for the rest of the week (remotely) and Damon will focus on his Church responsibilities. We are very excited and thankful to God for this, as you know we have been praying about a position at a Church for a while. Praise God! We are also excited to inform you that we have found a home in Worcester and are thankful to God for how He has provided!
