OCTOBER  2021

Dear Friends,

We are still at Union Bible Institute (UBI) in Hilton outside Pietermaritzburg. We are enjoying the ministry and getting to know the teaching staff and students. We have had wonderful times of meeting with supporters, family and fellow missionaries and pastors.

While we were here Heather was able to join the Baptist Women’s Department AGM online. It was part of the Baptist Union Assembly that was held in Pretoria. Great news is that she was elected as president-elect of the BWD! This means that she will be inducted at the Baptist Union Assembly in 2022 and will serve for one year as the National President of the Women’s Department.

Please pray for her as she prepares to take on this great ministry.

We were able to go back to Hibberdene for a long weekend and catch up with what is happening there. Andy spent that weekend marking assignments. He has 28 second- and third-year students; five are studying for the Diploma and the others for the BTh degree. He is now marking their second assignment. The students have two more assignments and two tests and then the exam which will be on 18th November. We will then go home to Hibberdene as Heather will be attend the KZN Ladies Seminar at Skogheim from 19th t0 21st November. The KZNBWN had a good AGM and are looking forward to the Seminar. Heather is the treasurer for the KZNBWN.

Andy attended a Pietermaritzburg Baptist Pastor’s Fraternal which brought back many good memories. He also preached at Scottsville Baptist and will be preaching at Fynnland Baptist and Hayfields Baptist while we are here. He will also teach at the ZEBS classes during November that are held at UBI and in Estcourt (about an hour away).

Thank you for your prayers for our ZEFA Executive meetings that were held at Sunbury on Saturday 9th. Although not everyone could attend for various reasons, we had a good turn out and made progress with our plans.

FAMILY NEWS :

The grandchildren are at school for the final term of their school year. This means tests for all the boys and stressful times for them all. As we are away from home Casi spent the last couple of days in Pinetown. She visited the optometrist and has been told she is getting short sited she will be getting sync lenses. The rest of the family are well and managing to get through this third last month of the year!

Thank you for your faithful prayers and loving support.

Andy & Heather Sullivan
