Dear Prayer Partners
Thank you for praying for us! We are now halfway through our UK holiday to catch up with family. We thank God for this blessing. We are due to arrive back in Tokyo on 11 Sept. The restrictions are changing as Japan is having a spike now. If quarantine rules are still severe please pray that we can minister effectively remotely.
The chainsaw class at Gamo in July went well and we had one new man who doesn’t usually attend. Otherwise the non-Christians were still all women! We also had a mini-concert and Hallelujah meeting just before we left. Pray for the seed sown in the tsunami areas to bear fruit and God to raise up believers and even churches in these areas. Pray for new attendees at worship to come to saving faith, and for those who have stumbled because of the pandemic to return to the Lord and the church.
In July we finally completed work on the house in Hitokita. We were able to do the repairs cheaply with the help of a retired missionary who is also a carpenter. So now the church has two houses for future ministers or other staff, as well as centres for us to conduct evangelism. Please pray for the Lord to raise up workers, for the giving to increase appropriately and for us to get land and a church building.
“Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” (Col. 2:6-7) We Christians need to realise we have no goodness or strength in ourselves and should depend on Christ alone for grace to live the Christian life as much as when we first believed in him for justification. We realise that more than ever.
Thank you for your prayers and support!
love from Rod and Glenda
