Thank you once again for your prayer support – we have experienced the mighty Hand of God in so many ways this past month. We have recovered from covid and are getting stronger every day. We really appreciated having Casi here as Heather contracted covid pneumonia and had to be on oxygen and medication for over a week. Casi and Andy went back to Amanzimtoti to fetch medicines and oxygen from the medical practice where Casi works which saved us a lot of money. It was also a blessing that Casi had taken the week off as we were supposed to be together with Andy’s family for his brother’s 70th birthday. This was not possible due to level 4 restrictions.
Thanks for your prayers for South Africa as we experienced the darkest period in our country’s history – at least since 1994. We were not personally affected by the rioting and looting as security and community prevented the mobs from getting into our town of Hibberdene. Only a few places were vandalised before they were chased away. The nearby town of Port Edward was badly looted and many of the shops in the rural areas were also looted and destroyed. Please pray for the many who have lost their income, their jobs and for peace to be-established in our land.
We have not been able to do much active ministry because of having covid, the level 4 lockdown restrictions and the current security situation. Andy preached “to a camera” at Pinetown Baptist. One sermon was live on YouTube and the other was recorded to be sent out the following Sunday. The only people in the church were the two “technicians” doing the sound and recording and Heather! Andy preached on Psalm 46 the Sunday after the rioting focusing on the Character of God who is our Protection, Always Present and who is Powerful. He is our “Refuge and Strength – our Mighty Fortress”. We need to “be still (stop) and know that HE IS GOD”
South Africa moved to level 3 from Monday 26th – please pray as we begin active ministry again. Andy will be teaching at a Mukhanyo school in Empangeni but the Mukhanyo classes at South Coast Bible School were cancelled for July . He is also planning and preparing for a ZEFA Executive meeting at the end of August. The planned ZEFA Women’s Conference for that weekend was cancelled.
FAMILY NEWS: We were blessed by a visit from Andy’s oldest brother, Peter and his wife Karin, who travelled from Cape Town to celebrate his 70th birthday with the KZN family. They spent some time with us in Hibberdene staying in #104 which is really proving to be a great blessing. We’ve had a number of people staying there now. Both Casi and Andrea and her family came through to visit with them. Pray for Haydn who has had covid and they are experiencing one of the coldest winters this year, so far. The grandchildren are able to return to school now that we’re on Level 3.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and loving support.
