Thank you for your faithful prayers – they work! We spent about 10 days in Gauteng where the minimum temperature was just above freezing, and the maximum was around 18 degrees (Celsius). Keep in mind that on the coast the minimum is normally around 16 degrees!
We returned home on Tuesday the 15th with a souvenir! We both felt a bit poorly after a few days and went for a covid test – and it came back POSITIVE! We have had some “forced rest” and are slowly recovering and thank the Lord that we had no serious fever but have had some breathing problems with sore and tired bodies. We appreciate all the messages that we have received assuring us of your prayers and thoughts.
The Gauteng trip was a great time of visiting family and friends. Andy attended a Theological Educators Consultation where there were great speakers and positive workshops. We were so blessed that ZEMA was able to get exposure as one of the speakers was, one of our ZEBS teachers, Sipho Mfusi. Eric Binion from UBI also attended and gave positive reports on our ZEBS ministry. Andy was also able to speak about ZEMA during the sharing times. Heather spent quality time with Kirsten on her birthday and with the grandchildren. We also met with fellow ZEMA missionaries and personal supporters – the McPherson and Grobler families.
Thank you so much for praying for the ZEBS Teachers Conference when about 40 Teachers and Missionaries arrived. Despite the restrictions caused by the covid regulations we had a great time of fellowship and sharing. There were two main topics. We reviewed the past year and shared how covid pandemic has affected our various ministries. Although there has been a decline with enrolments and the numbers attending are less, a positive that was shared that there is a greater commitment to learning God’s Word and how modern and online technology has helped our students during this time of crisis.
Pray for wisdom. Due to being on Lockdown Level 4 active ministry will not be happening for at least the next two weeks. Plans for July include teaching at South Coast Bible School which may or may not happen. We praise the Lord that He is in control and remains the Sovereign Lord of all.
FAMILY NEWS: We are grateful that although we were with Casi when Andy had his covid test, she was not infected. Andrea, Quintin and family had to go into 10 days of isolation as they were with us on Father’s Day and may have been infected. We praise the Lord that the insurance paid out and Quintin has another Ford Ranger bakkie / pick-up. Andy’s oldest brother, Peter is visiting from Cape Town to celebrate his 70th birthday with the family who are in KZN. The only one who will be missing will be our oldest sister Joan who also lives in Cape Town. Due to Covid restrictions we cannot get together as planned but they plan to come and spend some time with us in Hibberdene.
Thank you for your faithful prayers and loving support.
