Call to Prayer                                                                               May 2020

Dear Partners in Ministry,

Thank you for your ongoing prayers for us and the ministry we are involved in. We wonder and marvel at the mysterious providence of God.

First, we have had to suspend our report back visits to our supporters, friends and partners. This very possibly will delay our ‘return’ to duty in October as originally planned. Unless we can find other ways to fulfil our ministry to share and give feedback to encourage you all. We do believe that the example of Paul in Acts is one to repeat and necessary. We would love to minister to you and encourage you by sharing the work God is doing in Europe.
Act 14:27  And when they arrived and gathered the church together, they declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.”

We mentioned in our previous newsletter that we were required to do medical check-ups. We want to publicly praise and thank God that we have both received good results. Only a very strong recommendation to take a good break and rest well before we return to Europe. Please pray with us as we wait on the Lord during this time.

Second, please pray for those who minister to migrants in Europe where the Covid-19 pandemic has affected not only our ministries but also the ministries of our various partners in Europe. Some have found creative ways to share with migrants and people by doing shopping with them and being able to share some Biblical truth while shopping. This is also the way they are able to give them food parcels. Movement in all the countries has been restricted and visits to some migrant camps have been stopped. Also, the use of computer technology has been used for Bible studies and staying connected with those who are struggling or continue to show interest in Christianity.

Pray for the 3 couples that were preparing to join the team in Europe. The closure of church services and their ability to do deputation has been severely affected. Pray that they will be carried by God through this unsettling time.

Thirdly we want to ask you to earnestly pray for protection for the millions of people who have become more vulnerable due to lack of work and means to survive. Human traffickers are at their best (or worst) to exploit vulnerable people at times of crises. Our partners in anti-human trafficking are anticipating a huge increase in people being trafficked or abused during this time. We need to pray for God to protect the vulnerable from evil and that the prevention ministry we are seeking to launch will help people while also hearing the Gospel.

Thank you so much for your ongoing support and help. As Sonia is a very high-risk person to the Coronavirus we are having to take very strict precautions. So far we are all safe and enjoying the time we can spend with our two grandkids.

Psa 20:6  Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed; he will answer him from his holy heaven with the saving might of his right hand. :7  Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. :8  They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand upright.

Verse 6 clearly teaches us that the LORD (YHWH) is ultimately in charge. The next verse teaches us not to trust in secondary causes. This is so encouraging in our day and hour. Trust the LORD with all your heart at this time. God provides all we need through means that He controls. Those who do not truly trust in the LORD will ultimately collapse and fall. This is sad and to be avoided.

We continue to pray for you.

Yours in Royal Service

Henry and Sonia
