April 2020 update from Dale and Karen Viljoen,
ministering in Sapporo, Japan
April 11, 2020 (Holy Saturday)

Holy Saturday (the day between Good Friday and Easter) “reflection” (Dale)
The incredible suffering around the world. Sickness, poverty, discrimination…
The darkness of Friday and the glory of Sunday…
How Jesus reigns above every power and authority but COVID-19...
The extent of Jesus’ love for every person on earth. Still unknown by so many…

That living and grappling with paradox is OK.
That the Kingdom of God is both “now” and “not yet.”
The presence, reality and love of Jesus surrounds me.
I only need to follow Jesus and extend his Kingdom today.
Tomorrow I can rejoice in Jesus resurrection and be free to live!
The Light shines and darkness is gone!
To our Friends, Supporters and Family,

We are very much in prayer for you all, scattered all over the world.
We would love to say to you face to face tomorrow (Easter): “Christ is RISEN!!”

Some brief praise and prayer items:
  • Café COEN and COEN English are now closed, at least until May 7. Still, the Bible Community meets each Sunday (about five at the Café and others through LINE audio). We are trying to keep in contact with regular Café and English members by phone, email and Skype.
  • Dale finally was able to finish and submit the COEN Business tax declaration! About two and a half months later than he expected but a huge relief.
  • We will try and take two weeks’ vacation, April 13-26. We are tired and haven’t had a real holiday for 13 months. Exactly what will happen will depend on the COVID19 situation in Hokkaido.
With our love and prayer,
Dale and Karen

We would not be able to minister in Japan without your prayer backing, support, encouragement and friendship. Thank you!

Please let us know how we can pray for you, too!

I trust that your ministry will be blessed and that God will continue to lead and guide you as you carry out His work in Parliament.
