Thank you once again for your faithful prayer - we are back home in Hibberdene
We were able to leave quarantine in Johannesburg on Wednesday 6
May, after being tested negative for COVID-19 and hired a vehicle to travel to Durban. We hired and Andy drove a Mercedes Veto 8 seater as we offered lifts to Hilton & Mariek Petzer(who live in Westville) an older couple that were in the room next door at the hotel, and also to Rose Boyle who lives in Morningside. Rose
s husband, Ryan met her when we dropped off the vehicle in downtown Durban. Quintin met us there and took us back to their home where we collected our own car and after having lunch popped in on Casi for coffee and other items that we left behind there and got home that evening. It was so lekker to sleep in our own bed after being away about 80 days! We had left home on Friday 28
February to travel to Johannesburg.
The following day was a day of recovering
we sometimes cannot even remember where to find things in our own house! Now we are slowly adjusting to our
. Andy has had a lot of ZEFA administration to do and catching up on South Coast Bible School administration. Andy had a WhatsApp group call with his presidents and Paul Seelhammer which was very beneficial. Heather has been busy doing sewing
including making masks and finishing the second diamond dot project we started in NZ. She continues to minister to the BU Pastor
s Wives and Widows.
Please pray for our ministry and the Zionist churches
it can be frustrating as we are limited in so many ways. We are setting up a WhatsApp group to minister to some who have smartphones. Most of our pastors do not have the internet access and many have limited data. They are also limited due to language difficulties. Although ZEBS classes cannot be held at the moment, we are grateful that our missionaries are still able to minister in other ways, especially using social media.
Casi was able to spend some off days with us as this is also legally her home, We did a 2000 piece-jigsaw puzzle, gardening and some work on
the house next door
. We had to move two built-in cupboards from one room into another which has no cupboards at all. It had been our hope to have people use it by the end of June but with travel restrictions we are no longer sure when the place will be used. Kirsten is still home schooling the children until their small school reopens, Haydn is able to work from home at this time. Andrea continues to work from home and Quintin has been keeping himself and the boys busy doing various projects. They celebrated thier16
wedding anniversary on the 22
. Quintin was able to return to work on the 26
May. Carson in grade 7 is due to return to school 1st June.
A closing thought
- During this time of lockdown it is easy to become impatient and intolerant. A quote by Oswald Chambers said
to rest in the Lord in the ordinary reasoning of man means sitting with folded arms and letting God do everything; in reality it is being so absolutely stayed on God that they are free to do the active work of men without fuss. The times God works most wonderfully are the times when we never think about it
. May we learn to live with this kind of peace as promised in Philippians 4:7.
