Dear Friends,

August was a "month of birthdays" as we celebrated the birthdays of Heather, Andrea, Raiden (11) as well as a number of ZEMA colleagues and other family members, including Andy’s youngest sister and Heather’s aunt. We were blessed to be able to meet together for Andrea’s 40 th birthday (and celebrated Raiden’s birthday then as well). Heather thanks all for wishes. We were also able to meet Zama and Zanele’s new baby boy at CfC.

Financial News

Praise God for answered prayer and gracious provision. We had to pay an extra amount when we booked the repatriation flight from New Zealand back to South Africa. Fortunately we were able to access our savings and ZEMA graciously gave us a financial gift to help cover some of the costs. However both Air NZ and Qantas have refunded us some of our flights! The amount they refunded was the amount we paid in from our savings for our tickets – praise the Lord! The only funds we lost was when we had to change flights from Virgin Australia to Air NZ as we couldn’t get hold of the on line company in the UK during the lockdown to change our flights. Thank you for praying for us - rejoice with us in God’s goodness and grace.

Ministry News

We attended the memorial service for Stan Smith in Pietermaritzburg. Bronwen is his granddaughter and we brought gifts from New Zealand for him but were unable to visit due to Lockdown regulations. We sent them to PMB in time for his 90 th birthday, unfortunately he died 2 weeks later. While we were there we were able to visit a few supporter friends and family as we stayed over two nights. It was so good to see folk we haven’t seen for a long time and look forward to when we can spend more time in Pietermaritzburg when we visit again.

Andy didn’t teach at CfC when they met as they only had small groups meeting at a time although he did go and invigilate their exam for the course he taught in February. He was also glad to be able to preach at a number of churches, including Idwala and Port Shepstone Baptist.

Family News.

The Lord has answered prayer and Quintin is doing well in his business – thank you for praying . Kirsten and family have accepted an offer on their house and are now waiting for paperwork and inspections. We are planning to visit them during September as we are now on Alert Level 2 and are able to travel between provinces.

Once again thank you for your faithful prayers and loving support.
