Dear Friends,

Colossians 4:2 commands us to " continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving " . The words " continue steadfastly " means " to persist in or to persevere " In the book of Acts, before and after Pentecost, believers are described as being constantly in prayer (1:14) and devoted to prayer (2:42). Romans 12:12 commands us to be faithful or constant in prayer. Epaphras, sent by the Colossian church to help Paul is described as " always wr estling in prayer for you" (Colossians 4:12 ). We are truly grateful for you who faithfully " wrestle in prayer " for us. Sadly two of our faithful prayer supporter were " promoted to glory " when Alet Smith passed away in November 2019 and then recently her husband Dave passed away. This couple have been praying for us since 1983 as they were in the first church we pastored - Eastvale Baptist Church, Springs.

Here are some requests for " wrestling in prayer " on our behalf.

Item for Praise: We rejoice that South Africa went to Level 1 from Sunday 20 th and we are grateful that we were able to travel to Gauteng, Andy was able to meet with two Zionist leaders of a church group that are facing a struggle within their leadership structure as the result of the death of their leader a few years ago. He and his colleague, Paul Seelhammer were able to give advice and provide some written material to assist them.

Item for Praise: We were blessed to be able to visit with Ken and Gen McPherson, Rodney and Rosalee Grobler and Joy McPherson together with their children. We had a lovely day of fun and fellowship catching up after not being able to visit during lockdown. We spent some time with Kirsten, Haydn and the grandchildren who are in the throes of packing as they anticipate a move to their new home which we were able to see for ourselves. It has 3 bedrooms, a beautiful yard for the children and an office for Haydn off the garage. Whilst in Gauteng we also spent quality time with ZEMA missionary colleagues the Seelhammer family and Kit Tischler.

Item for Prayer: John and Alysse Stavropoulos (Ethnos missionary friends) who are planning to move to Mexico in the new year. They were in Mozambique and are now teaching at a local Bible School.

Andy was supposed to attend a Mukhanyo College tutors conference called " Distance Forum " but was not able to due to the Lockdown restrictions. Instead he met with his fellow tutors, George Sander, Jonathan Fraser and Gregory Akers at CfC Ministries for two days joining the Conference on Zoom. These are really challenging days as the technology was not always working properly.

Item for Prayer: Please pray for Andy as he prepares for the ZEFA Executive meetings that will be held at Sunbury on the 10 th October. They would normally meet during the Annual Conference but this has had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. Pray for safe travels and positive meetings as they seek to minister to the Zionist church leaders during these difficult times.

FAMILY NEWS : Quintin celebrated his birthday during this past month and we were able to spend some time with them when they came down to visit with us and when we went to them now that travel restrictions have been lifted. Casi continues to be busy at work, she is working extra hours filling in for some of the doctors who have taken some leave. Continue to pray for Kirsten and the family as they wait to move into their new home there have been delays due to two deaths and a backlog at Tshwane municipality.

Thank you for praying for us and supporting our ministry,

Andy & Heather Sullivan
